Black Ash Pack Baskets

Make your own pack basket and in the process learn one of the oldest crafts in human history.  For thousands of years baskets served as indispensable objects in every culture. Carry on the tradition and take home a beautiful, durable and useful basket crafted from local and responsibly harvested, hand pounded black ash logs.

In this two day workshop, you will construct an approximately 18” tall traditional Adirondack pack basket with cedar runners and base and adjustable webbing harness. This basket is made to last and be used. 

Included is a discussion and demo on how the material is harvested and processed. Ages 14 and up.

BOTH Saturday + Sunday, March 25th and 26th, 9am - 5pm

Cost of registration is $250/person.
A $100 materials fee will be paid to the instructor on the first day of class.

There is the option of a leather harness for an additional $25.

Class will be held at Mudita and guided by Penny Hewitt of Lazy Mill Treecraft.
